Places to Donate in Little Rock, Arkansas
At Landers Kia, we know the importance of supporting our community, especially during the holidays. While the end of the year is full of holiday cheer, accented by each Christmas light and family gathering, it can be a time of struggling and grief for some. We’ve put together a list of places to donate this season that work to relieve the burden of the holidays for local families. Keep reading to find places to donate this season and to fuel the holiday spirit.
The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army has been helping communities since 1865. This year, Landers Auto Group in Little Rock donated to The Salvation Army Angel Tree. You can read more about The Salvation Army on our blog. If you’re looking for a different place to donate, check out the rest of our list!
Toys for Tots
Each year, Toys for Tots starts collecting toys in October to be fully prepared to help as many families as they can for Christmas. While no specific donation list is available on their website, Toys for Tots encourages those who donate to think about what the child (whether it’s your kid, niece, nephew, grandchild, or sibling) in your life would want to open on Christmas. The only requirement to donate is that the toy must be new and unwrapped. The typical age range for children receiving gifts from Toys for Tots is birth to 12 years old, but each donation site is different. Some look for gifts up to the age of 16. Check out the Toys for Tots website to find your nearest donation location.
CARE
If you’re looking to become an animal foster parent this season, you can check out CARE. This is a neat way to see if a pet will fit into your household, while also providing a home for an animal during the holidays. CARE doesn’t have a physical shelter, so they rely on foster parents to take care of the animals year-round. You can also check out their website to donate.
Women & Children First
Women & Children First is an organization that focuses on breaking the cycle of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. They offer various services, including a Statewide Domestic Violence 24-hour Hotline, counseling programs, and housing. See their website to make a gift or monetary donation and/or to volunteer your time.
Happy and safe holidays from our family at Landers Kia to yours. If you know any other organizations you know need help this season, share them with us!
