Kia Unveils the 2021 Kia Sorento

Completely redesigned for 2021, the new Kia Sorento has a sporty new look, improved off-road capability and host of impressive new features! Since it’s introduction in 2002, the Sorento has been one of Kia’s most popular and best-selling vehicles, and with loads of upgrades for 2021, it can only get better from here. New Power Options

The new 2021 Kia Sorento has more performance capabilities and power options with four available powertrains: the 191-hp 2.5-liter GDI four-cylinder, the new 281-hp 2.5-liter GDI 4-cylinder Turbo, the 227-hp 1.6-liter GDI 4-cylinder Turbo Hybrid with 44 kW electric motor and the 261-hp 1.6-liter GDI 4-cylinder Turbo Plug-in Hybrid with 66.9 kW electric motor (arriving in 2021). The new plug-in hybrid option offers an estimated 30 miles of pure electric driving range and is equipped with all-wheel drive for a unique driving experience. If you’re looking for a little more muscle, the new 2.5-liter turbo engine may be for you. Plus, it’s equipped with the segment-exclusive eight-speed wet-clutch DCT for the most responsive driving whether you’re zipping around town and exploring off the pavement. 

 

A New Look and a Stronger Platform

Designed in the U.S. at Kia’s Irvine, CA, studio, the new Sorento is defined by bold lines, athletic styling and rugged, fearless attitude. The front fascia features a wide, tiger-nose grille that extends to the sharp LED headlights and sculpted hood structure. Strong lines flow along the side of the Sorento emphasizing its performance abilities riveting driving experience. The new Sorento sure looks great, but the best update to its exterior isn’t immediately seen, but you sure can feel it. The all-new 3rd generation “N3” platform is lighter, stronger and more flexible than those of the previous models. This platform offers an increased wheelbase for 1.4 inches more interior space, an overall weight reduction of 3.1 percent, improved tensile strength and improved durability. On the road, the new N3 platform provides improved driving dynamics for better acceleration, handling and reduced noise vibration. 

 

Advanced Technology 

Like all new Kia vehicles, the 2021 Sorento ia packed with an extensive menu of tech features, including: 

  • An available 12.3-inch full digital meter cluster, a first for any Kia SUV

  • A Surround View Monitor with four cameras to provide a 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings

  • A Blind View Monitor system that projects a live view of adjacent lanes 

  • An 8-inch or available 10.25-inch high-resolution color touchscreen display with split-screen functionality

  • Available multi-connection Bluetooth wireless connectivity 

  • And more!
