Fun Thing to do in Central Arkansas While Social Distancing

January 30th, 2021 by

The new year is finally here, but unfortunately the need for social distancing isn’t going anywhere! Over the past year, we’ve come to realize that most of our “normal” activities don’t comply with social distancing guidelines, so we’ve had to get creative and find new ways to learn, work, celebrate and socialize. Thankfully, there are still plenty of fun ways to spend your free time safely in Central Arkansas. We at Landers Kia have compiled our own list of socially-distanced activities for you below!

Little Rock Zoo

This may seem like a no-brainer, but the zoo is the perfect destination for a safe, socially-distanced hangout.  To encourage safe social distancing, the Little Rock Zoo  is limiting the number of visitors and requiring reservations. They have also increased their cleaning measures and placed hand-sanitizing stations throughout the zoo. Remember to wear your face mask as they are required for entry! Make your reservation here

Drive-In Movies

We have been waiting for years for a drive-in movie theater to open in Central Arkansas! MP Outdoor Cinema in Little Rock has parking for up to 180 cars and areas for local food trucks to sell refreshments. The theater is open from Thursday to Sunday and show time is at 7:30 P.M. Plus, it only costs $30 a car! Haul the whole family in the Kia Telluride and it will only cost $3.75 a person.

Explore Walking Trails

Arkansas is known as “The Natural State” for a reason, and Central Arkansas has plenty of hiking and walking trails to choose from. For a leisurely stroll, choose the paved walking trail at Emerald Park in North Little Rock. Not only is it handicap-accessible, but it also features gorgeous views of the Arkansas River bluffs. Up for more of a challenge? Choose a trail in Pinnacle Mountain State Park in West Little Rock. Watch out for the east summit trail, though- it’s a rocky one.

Enjoy a Meal at a Restaurant with a Heated Patio

Many restaurants in Little Rock and North Little Rock have invested in outdoor heating to promote a safe, socially-distance dining experience. Additionally, businesses and city councils have worked together to create new outdoor dining areas like the Argenta Outdoor Dining District in North Little Rock. The Argenta Outdoor Dining District is open seven days a week from 10 A.M. to 10 P.M. and Argenta businesses within the district can offer outdoor dining and drinks to patrons. Some participating restaurants include Flyway Brewing, Creegan’s Irish Pub and more!
