The Best of Both Worlds with the 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV

The Hannah Montana of Hybrids & SUVs.
Don’t compromise between gas and electric. Get the best of both with the 2022 Sorento Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV). The 2022 hybrid gives you a unique experience thanks to a bigger battery, sporty exterior, and updated cabin. We at Landers Kia want to share what we know about this hybrid. Find out if this SUV is the one you’ve been looking for.
Power Behind the Hybrid.
The new plug-in hybrid begins the shift to bigger batteries with the goal of going further without stopping. The lithium-ion polymer battery is paired with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and full parallel hybrid system. This provides the 2022 Sorento PHEV with 258 lb.-ft. of torque and 261 horsepower to get you where you’re going. If you’re looking to try out a hybrid, but you’re not ready to be an electric car driver then the Sorento is right for you. The combination of gas and electric means the Sorento PHEV lacks regenerative braking. The 2022 Sorento has a range of 460 miles combined, with 32 of those miles on electric alone.
Let’s circle the exterior.
The Sorento hybrid keeps its sports body, with most changes being made under the hood and within the cabin. That doesn’t mean we can’t point out some external features. The LED headlights and rear windshield wiper are more noticeable. The PHEV also has plenty of exterior colors to customize your new car, and the 19-inch wheels help give the passengers a smoother ride.
Time to step inside the cab.
Once you make yourself comfortable in one of six available seats, you’ll begin to notice important interior features like the panoramic sunroof and the excess of cargo space available. If the seat you decide on is the driver’s seat, you’ll notice how the cabin is designed to keep you focused on the road. The 12-inch display behind the wheel shows you the important details, like how much charge is left, the nearest charging station, and the speed you’re going to get there. The user-friendly software extends to the 10.25 touchscreen in the middle of the dash. This touchscreen display is where you can connect to your music, your apps, and your maps. Though the touchscreen benefits the front seat passengers most, the second and third-row benefit from the music selection.
The 2022 Sorento plug-in hybrid utilizes every aspect, external and internal, to make the trip smooth and as stress-free as possible, whether to the grocery store or a vacation.
