2020 Kia Telluride is CUV of Texas

Our neighbors to the west, the Texas Auto Writers Association, has named the 2020 Kia Telluride as the “CUV of Texas” and the “Mid-Size CUV” at this year’s 2019 Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Auto Roundup event.

The TAWA chose the Telluride to receive these awards based on the assessment of the 44 journalists members who attended the event and evaluated 29 vehicles based on different criteria.

The TAWA members drove each vehicle on predetermined track and street courses and then voted on the top vehicles in each category. Members were encouraged to drive the vehicles in the running as if they were their daily drivers for their normal routines.

Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Kia Motors America Michael Cole said that with the knowledge of the TAWA, these awards mean a lot.

“The Telluride was designed in California, assembled in Georgia, and has now been honored in Texas with two awards from this distinguished group of journalists,” he said. TAWA members know automotive, especially utility vehicles, and Telluride being crowned now only the ‘CUV of Texas’ but also the ‘Mid-Size CUV,’ is further proof of Kia’s ‘Give It Everything’ credo. It’s true what they say: Everything, even Telluride, is bigger in Texas.”
