How to Remove Stickers from Glass

Most of us have done it and it’s not necessarily a bad thing, as long as you don’t cover the glass up completely. Yep, we’re talking about putting stickers and decals on your car. When you are obsessed with that one band, tv show or sports team, sometimes you just can’t help but show that love off via your car’s back windshield. I mean, we’ve seen some pretty cool Stranger Things and Star Wars stickers that we thought about putting on our cars!

But, eventually they have to come off. Whether you’re getting ready to sell your car or decided you’re no longer a fan of that ska band you loved in college, you need an easy way to remove stickers from your car windows.

We’re here to say don’t be afraid, it’s not that painful. What you’ll need are the following: glass cleaner spray, microfiber towel, a razor blade and adhesive remover gel/spray. If we were talking about removing bumper stickers from paint, we’d suggest a plastic card instead of a razor blade, but since we’re talking about glass, it’s okay.

1. The first thing you’ll do is clean the glass really well with the glass cleaner and your microfiber towel.

2. Once the window is clean and dry, take your clean, sharp razor blade to get underneath a corner of the sticker. Slowly scrape and peel the sticker off and be really careful not to cut yourself or scratch the paint where the metal meets glass.

3. You’ll have some leftover glue residue once you get the actual sticker/vinyl decal off. Spray the adhesive remover over the area and take your razor blade to gently scrape the rest of the residue off. If you have the time, let the adhesive remover set for a few minutes before you scrape away.

4. Once the residue is gone, liberally spray the glass cleaner over the area again to remove the remaining adhesive remover and wipe clean with the same or another microfiber towel. Repeat steps 2-4 if necessary.

And now you’re a pro at removing stickers from glass! That wasn’t so hard, right?
