When to Rotate Your Tires

One of the things you should have done on your vehicle regularly is having the tires rotated. Why is it necessary to do this and how often should you rotate the tires on your Kia? Keep reading to find out!

First of all, let’s explain the process of rotating tires. Tire rotation is simply moving the tires on your vehicle from one position to another. Moving rear tires to the front and front tires to the rear, and/or the left tires to the right and vice versa are all examples of how we rotate tires. There are lots of rotation patterns and you can find them in your owner’s manual or with an online search.

Your Kia owner’s manual will tell you how often to rotate the tires on your vehicle, but a general rule is every 5,000 to 7,000 miles.

Now, why is tire rotation so important? It’s because you want you tires to wear evenly, which will extend the life of your tires so you can get as much use as you can out of them, which saves you money. If your tires wear evenly, your tire handling will be more balanced. Let’s say you have a front-wheel drive vehicle and you fail to rotate your tires. This will result in your front tires wearing down quicker than your rear tires.
