Some of our brackets are shot and some of us made some pretty good guesses, but we’re excited to see which teams will face off for the National Championship on April 3 after Saturday’s games! It doesn’t matter if you plan on watching with the family or having friends over to watch the game, Big Steve has a few tips to make your basketball-themed celebration the best March Madness party around!

* INVITE *

Keep it simple by sending text messages or take the extra time and send e-cards. Evite.com has a free and a premium March Madness invite you can send to your basketball-loving friends.

* ATIRE *

Ask you friends to show up sporting their team’s jersey or clothing, even if they didn’t make it past Round 1. Everyone will instantly be in a festive mood because they’re dressed for it.

* DECORATE *

Most of the fun of March Madness is filling out your bracket and then tracking which teams make it to the Final Four. Grab a large poster from your local store and draw the full bracket starting with the original 65 teams and tack it on the wall in your den or living room. Party City has college team decorations as well as generic basketball kits .

* FOOD *

Make sure you stock up on drinks and finger foods like chips and dip, wings, pizza, sausage balls and fruits and veggies for a healthy option. Go the extra mile and make cookies that are frosted like basketballs or use a basketball cookie dough cutter. Don’t feel like you have to do all the work even though you’re the host. Make the event a pot luck and ask your guests to bring a dish and/or a drink.

* GO OUT INSTEAD *

If you want to get together with friends but don’t want to go through all the planning and prep that’s required to have people over, go out instead. There are plenty of restaurants and sports bars around town that will have the game on. Plus there’s no cleanup when everyone is done eating.

We can’t wait to see who take it all this year! How are you planning on watching the National Championship?
