The new 2022 Stinger has a refreshed look inside and out. Offered in three trim levels–the GT-Line, GT1 and GT2–the Stinger has a long, low silhouette and wears the new Kia emblem on its hood. On the rear, a striking new taillight design spans the full width of the liftgate and a new aggressive exhaust tip eludes to its sporty capability. Other standard features include new 18- or 19-inch wheels and LED headlights with a DRL signature.
Inside, the Stinger boasts a sophisticated cabin with driver-focused design. The instrument panel is adorned with gloss black and chrome details for a polished look. Available Nappa leather seats offer a new “chain link” design inspired by the wristbands of high-end watches. To set the mood, ambient mood cabin lighting offers drivers a selection of vibrant colors, and the available Harmon Kardon premium audio system supplies an immersive listening experience. Changing your music or entertainment is simple on the standard 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The wireless smartphone charger makes sure you always stay connected.
The Stinger’s selection of Advanced Driver Assistance features has grown and is now the class leader in its segment. New systems include:
- Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning
- Safe Exit Warning
- Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist
- Rear Cross Traffic Avoidance Assist
- Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control
- Lane Following Assist
- Highway Driving Assist
Highway Drive Assist is Kia’s new semi-autonomous driving system that uses federal highway speed limit information to automatically adjust speed and maintain a set distance with the vehicle ahead. It also uses radar to detect lane markings and keep the vehicle within its lane and even perform assisted lane changes.
As for the powertrain of the 2022 Stinger, the GT twin-turbo V6 engine provides more power. The 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 provides 368 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque for an estimated 0-60 mph speed of 4.7 seconds. The new Stinger is also equipped with Brembo brakes and launch control.
