The 2022 Kia K5 has outperformed the competition as a true driver’s car. The new Kia K5 has faster acceleration and better overall handling performance than the BMW 330i sedan in independent tests certified by AMCI Testing. The new K5 GT accelerates to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds, which is 0.28 seconds faster than the BMW 330i Sedan. It’s no surprise given the K5 GT’s best-in-class 311 lb.-ft. of torque and quick-shifting eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The BMW 330i sedan couldn’t match the K5 GT’s cornering performance under both wet and dry conditions. The K5’s all-new chassis and Pirelli P-Zero all-season tires help to provide better overall handling performance and a 0.947 maximum dry cornering G-force capability. In both wet and dry conditions, the K5 GT’s sport-tuned suspension provided the confident handling required to complete a slalom course at higher speeds than the BMW 330i sedan. Finally, the K5 GT reached a higher top speed of 103.3 mph and set a faster time of 14.2 seconds in the quarter-mile, displaying the exhilaration of 290 turbocharged horsepower from the engine found in the GT trim level.
